Shortlisted students will present their work on climate change at the 1M1B Summit at the United Nations Headquarters, New York
The 1M1B (One Million for One Million) Foundation, a UN-recognized non-profit organization, has announced the launch of a new batch for its ‘Future Leaders’ program. The Future Leaders Program aims to find and nurture human-centered leaders of the world’s most promising youth leaders, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The theme of the Future Leaders Program 2022 is Climate Action and Sustainability.
Climate change is already happening and it is the most complex problem that needs immediate attention and action. Climate action is one of the 17 SDGs to change our world.
The Future Leaders Program 2022 aims to create future leaders in climate action and sustainability who can choose to address climate-related factors surrounding energy, water, agriculture, food, fast fashion, sustainable menstruation, climate change, plastics, and climate change. Marine life and much more.
Top students from the program are selected based on their project work and a Super 7 self-assessment criterion to participate in a 3-day trip to New York where they are given the opportunity to demonstrate their influence as a young lawyer at 1M1B. At the UN Headquarters in New York City you will have the opportunity to speak at the Youth Conference and talk to diplomats, media, foundations and influential people from around the world about their work. More than 120 1M1B youth from India presented their work at the United Nations, New York. In addition, top students are offered other opportunities such as work-experience and micro-internships with organizations, interactions with world leaders, media coverage and international speaking opportunities.
At the end of the program, students emerge as human-centered leaders who prioritize human values and ethics over business and profit.
