A year review of education

2021 was a long year for education. From the cancellation of Class 12 board exams to the emergence of a unicorn in edtech, the ecosystem of education has changed in the post-epidemic world. One of the most notable moments was the appointment of our new Minister of Education and Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan. New leadership has emerged to advance educational trends and policy changes, particularly the implementation of the new National Education Policy 2020, which has been the subject of much discussion and debate.

While 2020 saw the rise of Adtech, 2021 consolidated its position in the ecosystem. Unacademie became a unicorn, while many Adtechs were acquired by other companies, notably Baijus.

The higher education institution invested a large year in research, collaborating with industry tycoons and adtech to create more seamless online education and training systems. Efforts to identify and bridge the skills gap took center stage, an ongoing effort from all stakeholders. The 2021 has come to an end with the growing threat of new omicron variants, however, educational institutions are more prepared than the previous year, with programs ready to go both online and offline.
