A community-based alternative digital university, Altuni’s explosive growth is driven by a community of 5 million students and professionals in a unique model that lowers the cost of acquisitions.
InsideIIM’s AltUni, an alternative digital university, has raised $ 0.5 million through many angel investors. The raised capital will be raised to further develop its online platform, enhance advanced learning programs and strengthen community engagement to prepare India’s youth industry. AltUni is building an edtech company that will change the quality of human capital in India. AltUni has more than 1,800 alumni in less than 18 months and an average income of more than $ 1 million as of January 2022. Women make up 40 percent of the team and this number is expected to reach 50 percent soon.
Launched in 2020, AltUni provides short modules of immersive online learning courses instead of distance learning programs that are constantly expanding and becoming redundant over time. The university does not offer degrees or diplomas but facilitates connections between students and industry leaders and offers interviews with top companies in India. Each program provides a live art project and personalized advice.
AltUni’s rapid growth is due to the InsideIIM.com community. InsideIIM is India’s largest MBA platform, delivering 400K + unique users per month and around 5 million unique users per year. The platform’s YouTube channel receives more than 10 million views each year. This community is the backbone of AltUni and helps AltUni reach users at zero cost.
AltUni has partnered with companies like Hindustan Unilever, TATACliq, Aditya Birla Capital and Ecom Express for its learning programs. It has worked with universities like SDA Bocconi in Milan and SPJIMR in Mumbai.
A large number of teams in the company are led by women. The team behind InsideIIM and AltUni has more than 40 percent women and will have more than 50 percent before October 2022.
