The Hyundai Motor India Foundation’s program has helped 25 artists with a grant of Rs 1 lakh each and aims to create employment opportunities for the artists.
Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), Hyundai Motor India Ltd. The public interest arm of (HMIL), CSR today announced the ‘Art for Hope’ initiative. Art for Hope is India’s first dedicated CSR program to encourage artists in various domains such as digital arts, crafts, multidisciplinary arts, performance arts and visual arts. Each of the 25 artists will receive a grant of Rs. Work on the project is expected to start from October this year.
The concept of ‘Art for Hope’ was created to promote art because art inspires a change of positivity for the happiness and restraint of humanity. The shortlisted artists will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, run an art project and get advice from eminent people in the industry. The new corporate headquarters of Hyundai Motor India Ltd. in Gurugram will also showcase projects for community viewing across India.
Proposals from artists and groups across India are invited via email with a CV, artist statement and a letter of recommendation in 800-1000 words with a project proposal in any Indian language. A panel of jury consisting of the above-mentioned advisory members and internal members will evaluate the proposals based on the impact of the innovation, community, including the economic situation of the applicant. Projects can be located anywhere in India and can be completed within 6-10 weeks of grant announcement. The grant will be used to implement an industry project available for public viewing.
