With the launch of the IELTS Online Global Rollout in early 2022, candidates around the world will have the option to take their secure exams online.
IELTS Online is a new way to take IELTS Academic, the world’s leading English language test for international higher education. IELTS Online will allow students to take the exam from their own home or other suitable place as they embark on their journey to pursue their studies and career goals.
This test will have the same content and format as the existing pen-and-paper and computer-provided IELTS test. This includes a real-time face-to-face speaking test, delivered online by trained IELTS testers.
IELTS Online IELTS Academic – will cover the four skills of listening, reading, writing and speaking. It will have the same rigorous assessment by trained testers, and a speaking test with a human tester that gives a true indication of the tester’s ability to communicate effectively in English.
IELTS has developed a secure remote procturing test platform with integrated video call speaking software to provide secure English language tests to facilitate the experience of examinees, testers and proctors. The new online proctoring platform, combined with IELTS’s own proctors who are directly recruited, trained and administered, will ensure a high standard of test integrity in the new format.
