IIMB and ISPMA host the Software Product Management Summit

Prof. Hargopal Mangipudi, Conference Co-Chair and Global Board Member of ISPMA, welcomed the participants and Prof. Sadagopan, Co-Chair and Chairman of ISPMA India Conference delivered the keynote address.

In his speech at SPM Summit India 2022, co-organized by IIM Bangalore’s Center for Software and IT Management (CSITM) and International Software Product Management Association (ISPMA), Dr. CN Ashwat Narayan, Minister for Science and Technology And assured those who are working to repair the digital divide of government support. Dr. Ramna Reddy, IAS Officer in Charge of IT, emphasized the importance of safe, secure and smart products and solutions that resonated with the theme of the Summit. Devyani Ghosh, President, NASSCOM, emphasized the need for responsible and inclusive technology.

Three pre-conference workshops were held on 20 January. With more than 70 participants, all the sessions conducted by Prof. Hargopal Mangipudi, Muthu Ranganathan, Abhijit Bendigiri and Tathagata Verma were interactive and informative.

The summit had academic / research and art tracks. There were several presentations, panel discussions and fireside chats with industry leaders.

Best Paper Award

The winners of the Best Paper Presentation were announced by Information Systems Area Professor Sankhdeep Banerjee and Chairperson CSITM, IIM Bangalore.

The best projects at the IIMB Student Showcase were Avalara Inc. Taxation and Compliance by Hardik Sanghvi, Shree Ostwal, Samarth Yadav & Sudipto Nan and Videoken: Avigna Banda, Gayatri Venkatesh, Manasa Kashyap and Aarti Shri Mundler Digital Product Analysis.

Manojit Basu won Best Industry Paper for ‘Developer Experience for Software Platforms: Short Case Studies and a Few Lessons’.

Best Research Paper (Second Runner-up) Vanessa Jennifer D’Mello and Dr. Ambigai Rajendran have been awarded for their dissertation, .

The Best Research Paper (First Runner Up) was won by Purnima Bhatnagar and Amoli Tadiparthi for their research paper, ‘Role of Artificial Intelligence in Marketing: A Review of Literature’.

The Best Research Paper Award went to Bhabana Pareva and Priya Gupta for their dissertation, ‘A Systematic Review and Bibliometric Analysis of Blockchain Service in Consumer Service’.

SPM Excellence Awards

Hans-Bernd Kitlaus, Chairman, ISPMA, on the Jury of Excellence Awards; Venkatesh Balakrishnan, Manager, CSITM, IIMB; Sanzai K, Partner E&Y and Andrei Maglius, MD, Maglius Consulting, Russia. The winners are Appsentinels to AppSentinels API Security Platform, Eightfold AI’s Talent Intelligence Platform, Intuit Quickbooks to Quickbooks Desktop and Infosys Edgeverve’s Finacle Virtual Banking. A special jury award was given to Bhuram Technologies for outstanding SPM practice.
