IIT Guwahati and AICTE will cooperate in solving water and energy problems

The partnership will provide financial support to Northeast technology companies and digital connectivity infrastructure, including solar power, water supply with extensive coverage of needy organizations.

The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati is going to collaborate with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to implement the AICTE-GAINER (Grant for Augmenting Infrastructure in North-East Region) scheme. Under the project, financial assistance is provided to Northeast technology companies to help solve water and energy problems.

AICTE and IIT Guwahati have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the implementation of this scheme, which has now been extended for two more years with digital connectivity infrastructure, solar power and water supply, extensive coverage of needy organizations and advice for MODROBS and RPS projects.

Prof. TG Sitaram, Director, IIT Guwahati and Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE recently signed the MoU in the presence of Prof. AS Achalkumar, Dean Outreach Education Program, Prof. Sharad Gokhale, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering and Professor Gopal Das, Head of the Department of Chemistry, IIT Guwahati.

In the new MoU, IIT Guwahati extends support for Northeast IT institutes to facilitate training required for writing technical proposals under MODROBS, RPS, and AICTE’s Internet Scheme.
