It is the only educational institution in India to offer an interdisciplinary postgraduate degree, providing students with an unprecedented level of flexibility in the current field of learning that will define the future of global engineering and technology.
The Indian Institute of Technology Madras has launched an International Interdisciplinary Masters Program (I2MP) in nine unique fields that incorporate next-generation technologies such as quantum science.
The International Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Degree is available in nine interdisciplinary areas:
- Power systems,
- Robotics, robotics
- Quantum Science and Technology,
- Computational engineering,
- Advanced materials and nanotechnology,
- Information science,
- Cyber-physical systems,
- Complex systems and dynamics, and
- Biomedical engineering
The International Interdisciplinary Masters program provides a platform for international students to participate in these activities, with exceptional performance in their undergraduate programs. In addition to courses in data science, and biomedical engineering, international students will also take courses in Indian culture. A dedicated research skills course will prepare them for their master’s thesis work.
International students interested in traditional departmental programs can also apply for the Masters program in any of the 16 departments of IIT Madras.
IIT Madras is constantly striving to expand the horizons of traditional engineering education and research and is home to the best and brightest. The Institute has a rich culture of in-depth research, technology development and entrepreneurship, which has developed over decades without compromise with basic science and engineering education.
The Interdisciplinary Masters Program – offered to international students through the I2MP (International Interdisciplinary Masters Program) and the widely popular Interdisciplinary Dual Degree (IDDD) among Indian students – represents the ultimate in IIT Madras decade excellence.
The deadline to apply is March 31, 2022. Interested students can apply here.
