The aim is to build the capacity of Indian institutions so that more American students come to study abroad in India and promote South India as a ‘study’ destination for students of American institutions.
The Indian Institute of Technology Madras, in collaboration with the US Consulate General, Chennai, is organizing a virtual workshop on ‘Destination South India’ to help build the capacity of South Indian educational institutions to host US students.
It will be held jointly with the United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) and Overseas Education Forum from 15 to 18 November 2021.

The main purpose of organizing this virtual workshop is to help South Indian educational institutions to understand the expectations of US students, US institutions and Indian institutions and to set up successful study programs abroad.
Workshops include credit transfer, safety and mental well-being, field visits and classroom sessions, Indian student roles, community engagement, diversity and inclusion, research, ethical practice and preparation for post-epidemic programs.
