Awareness campaign for teenage girls was conducted in Mumbai in partnership with an NGO called Think Beyond

Ahead of Women’s Day, Newberg Diagnostics, India’s fourth-largest diagnostic lab chain, conducted a monthly health and hygiene awareness campaign for 7th to 10th graders at Powai English High School. Adolescent students were given free biodegradable sanitary napkins. In partnership with the NGO, Think Beyond, Newberg Diagnostics has also pledged to provide free sanitary napkins to all teenage girls for one year.

A trained team of doctors from Neuberg and Think Beyond involved girls and discussed menstrual health and hygiene management. They explored the unhealthy practices associated with menstruation management and guided them through the benefits of sanitary pads on old rags, collar shells and husks. In addition, adolescent girls were taught when girls have periods, how ovulation relates to periods, periods, premenstrual syndrome, cramp management, how to use calendars to identify menstrual cycles, used napkin waste management, pregnancy, care guidelines. , Iron deficiency, balanced nutrition to avoid anemia and when one should consider medical intervention.
