Olympic silver medalist Ravi Dahiya has joined the campaign without education

The Smile Foundation’s campaign is now being promoted by Ravi Dahiya, a freestyle wrestler who won a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Olympic silver medalist Ravi Dahiya has joined hands with the Smile Foundation to promote ‘Shiksha Na Roke’. Dahiya will lend its support to the promotion of educational initiatives aimed at strengthening the lives of disadvantaged children who are deprived of education due to lack of access to online classes.

The Olympian Smile Foundation will work to implement a mixed learning program for children who do not have access to the Internet, laptops and smartphones. Dahiya will also visit the Smile Foundation’s learning centers during the campaign and meet with children where she will share her experiences with children and encourage them to play sports, which could turn into a career.

Speaking about his association, Dahiya said, “I am happy to team up with the Smile Foundation for such a work. I hope this campaign will help raise awareness about the problem of disadvantaged children lacking access to online education. I hope to inspire these children to tackle the challenges posed by the epidemic.

With more than a year to go in education, more than 24 million children worldwide are at risk of dropping out of school. In India, 5.3 per cent of rural children aged 6-10 did not attend school this year as compared to 1.8 per cent in 2018. Through its ‘Don’t Stop Education’ initiative, the Smile Foundation is trying to help less beneficiaries During epidemics, children continue their education through mixed learning methods.
