The final winners of the ‘Spark Tank’ competition get investment from the jury for their entrepreneurial initiative.
Inspired by the release of the first season of Shark Tank in India, the global EdTech PlanetSpark has announced the first season of “Spark Tank”, focusing on training children to become confident communicators. In this exciting spin-off, children under the age of 17 will present their multi-million dollar business idea to influence the jury to bag investment from these sharks. The Spark Tank Jury will have respected business personalities including Marquee Angel Investors, Bikash Kuthiala who owns leading companies like Wow Momo, Bijnis, Instasafe and Box8 among others in its investment portfolio.
During the 4-week long mega event, children aged 7-17 across India, USA, UAE and Europe will present their business ideas to become one of the youngest entrepreneurs in the world. Students will be judged not only on the merits of their business ideas but also on their ability to communicate and successfully sell ideas to jury members.
Speaking on the first of its kind, co-founder Manish Dhupar said, “The launch of Spark Tank is very integrated with our focus on building confident communicators for children and training them in vocational skills, of which communication and public speaking are a huge part. The idea is to stimulate the entrepreneurs’ aspirations by starting early. “
To register their entry, all participants must present a video of up to 3 minutes explaining the initial business concept and submit by 23rd December. The competition is open to all PlanetSpark students above Grade 3 aka ‘The Senior Wing’, with the top 15 entries being selected for the next round. Following the following round of screening, only 6 students will be given the opportunity to present their ideas to the jury at the main event, which will be held live on YouTube on January 10, ’21.
