RV University decided to offer the first apprentice based UG program

MoU Signing Memorandum of Understanding with Sigma – World’s Largest Pure-Play Data Analytics Company

Bangalore-based RV University (RVU) and Mu Sigma have signed a memorandum of understanding to offer a unique four-year B.Sc. Decision Science (Hons) Program. It is the first apprentice-based UG program in India along the co-op concept lines of US and Canadian universities.

This four-year program offered by RVU’s School of Computer Science and Engineering allows students to learn from the university and train as apprentices at Mu Sigma with 50 percent of the program duration as apprentices at Mu Sigma.

The job-based curriculum is jointly designed and distributed by RV University’s School of Computer Science and Engineering and Mu Sigma, the world’s largest pure-play data analytics firm providing data science solutions.

During this program, students will have the opportunity to work on the Fortune 500 company’s existing problems. They will spend 50 percent of their time working on real projects and the other half at the university, building a strong foundation in the basics, decision-making skills in the growing technical field and life skills that are important to their future.

The demand for data professionals and decision science is growing. Decision scientists are rare professionals who have insights into behavioral science, business acumen, and design thinking. In addition, these qualified professionals can artistically blend business, math, technology, and behavioral sciences and use a variety of skill sets to help enterprises make informed decisions. As a result, there is a huge demand for skilled professionals in various industries like telecom, BFSI, IT and many more. These trained professionals use AI and machine learning to search for large amounts of data across different domains to provide valuable insights on sales growth and fraud detection, anti-money laundering, pattern recognition and risk mitigation.
