Sharda University has moved towards academic-industry ties by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, one of the largest and oldest business entities in India. Dr. Sibaram Khara, Vice Chancellor of Sharda University and Sourav Sanyal, Secretary General of PhD Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed the agreement on 8 December 2021 at Sharda University campus. The signing ceremony was attended by senior faculty members as well as senior officials from both the parties.
The position of the PhD Chamber on policy matters is sought by think tanks, governments and academia, and its publications are widely read for their in-depth research and policy prescriptions. The MoU will give Sharda University ready access to industries in a more formal or organized manner under the umbrella of the PhD Chamber of Commerce. Sharda University and the PhD Chamber of Commerce and Industry have agreed to jointly organize an Academy-Industry Meet on 26 April 2021, the upcoming World IP Day, to showcase the technologies invented by the innovative faculty and students of Sharda University. Opportunity to transfer technology but to strengthen connections in an uninterrupted and self-sustaining manner. Dr. Sibaram Khara, Vice-Chancellor of Sharda University, during the signing ceremony, emphasized the need for continued efforts on both sides to identify areas of cooperation in the wider interest of the community. The meeting was coordinated by Dean Research, Dr. Bhubaneswar Kumar and Head of IPR Cell, Professor Abinash Kumar.
