Ben-Gurion University in the Negev has invited applications for the Global Health International Summer Program.
Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) is again inviting applications for the seventh edition of its ‘Global Health International Summer Program’. The program is administered by BGU’s School of Public Health, a leading school in BGU’s Faculty of Health Sciences. It is a member of the European School of Public Health Association (ASPHER), a leader in public health policy in Israel and abroad. The school is engaged in research on the impact of geopolitics on pollution, access to healthcare services and well-being.
Global health has emerged as an interdisciplinary field that encompasses both theory and social involvement, including medicine, epidemiology, sociology, economics, political science, ethics, and more. It broadens traditional medical perspectives on health, considering environmental and social determinants that harm one’s health; It examines how health is affected by environmental factors and examines how class, race and gender inequality affect access to healthcare services.
Program delivery
The summer program will provide students with a comprehensive learning experience that combines classroom study, professional field trips and a week of practice. Participants in the program will not only learn about global health but also visit places and meet people who actually showcase aspects of the covered content. The program will be taught in full English.
