The education system needs to change in line with globalization

On Friday, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the education system needs to be improved to meet global standards and demand.

On Friday, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said changes were needed to develop the education system in line with global standards and demand. He was speaking at the eighth annual convocation of the National Institute of Technology here.

“Ensuring a fair and quality education for all while adopting a strategy of rapid economic growth requires time. Undoubtedly, we have the potential to establish leadership. Our education system needs to implement the changes needed for global development. Quality and demand,” Mr Pradhan said.

The Union Minister said that the national education policy would reflect the potential of every student and transform the education landscape of the country.

“The policy provides many opportunities for students of all backgrounds and qualifications. It empowers students with the ability to make choices. I am confident that with further implementation of the policy as a whole, we will witness a major change in our education landscape.”

The institute has awarded an honorary PhD to Padma Shri awardee Neel Nankinrih, founder and consultant of Shillong Chamber Choir.
