The Embassy of the Republic of Korea has provided 13,500 masks with printed Indian flags to 26 Indian schools conducting Korean language classes.
Following the announcement of the reopening of the schools, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea has taken a deliberate step to provide 13,500 masks with Indian flags printed on 26 Indian schools, with Korean language classes (curriculum-based classes and hobby classes) starting in 2021.
The move was made to welcome students back to school after a long break due to Covid 19 and wish them a happy and healthy life ahead.
HE Chang Jae-bok, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to India, said, “I hope that Indian students who have gone through this difficult period of the Kovid epidemic will be able to overcome it by staying healthy and continue their lives and studies. To deepen the understanding of language and Korean culture. ” He hoped that Indian students would become a bridge between Korea and India in the future.
Korean Cultural Center India has been conducting pilot classes for teaching Korean language in Indian schools since 2015 and currently, 15 schools (18 classes, 607 students) are conducting Korean language classes as part of their curriculum, 18 schools (27 classes, 929 students). ) Is conducting Korean language classes as a hobby class due to the National Education Policy of 2020 and the recommendation of the Korean language course by the Government of India through the popularization of Korean culture since the Kovid 19 epidemic. Of these, 9 are in and around Delhi, 3 in Chennai, 2 in Punjab and 1 in Imphal. In particular, 7 schools are conducting Korean language classes at the same time this year as part of their curriculum and hobby classes. A total of 1,536 students from 26 schools are learning Korean.
