Dr. Ravichandran will join Jio Institute as Provost and Professor of Engineering on July 1, 2022.
The Jio Institute has announced the appointment of Professor Guruswami Ravichandran from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) as a Provost to further strengthen its academic leadership. Professor Ravichandran will join the Jio Institute on July 1, 2022 as the Provost and Professor of Engineering. From 2015 to 2021, he served as the Otis Booth Leadership Chair in the Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Caltech. He also served as the director of the Graduate Aerospace Laboratory at the California Institute of Technology (Galsit) from 2009 to 2015.
Dr. Ravichandran holds a PhD in Engineering from Brown University in the United States and an MS in Engineering, and a BE (Honors) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Regional Engineering College (NIT), Trichy. He is a member of the US National Academy of Engineering and a member of the Foreign Academy Europe, among others. He is Warner T. Quetta Medal, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, William M. The Jio Institute has announced enrollment in its post-graduate (PG) certification programs in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science and emerging fields of digital media and marketing communication. These one-year full-time programs will be delivered by leading academics and industry thinkers from world-renowned universities. These will be delivered from the Jio Institute campus in Navi Mumbai with state-of-the-art infrastructure. For both programs, the candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum CGPA of 50 percent or equivalent and at least eighteen months of work experience thereafter. The Jio Institute is offering scholarships up to 100 per cent in tuition fees for eligible candidates.
