The Government of Karnataka has started distributing E RUPI for education scholarship fees

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), State Bank of India (SBI) and the Department of e-Governance, Government of Karnataka have partnered to activate and implement e-RUPI, a cash and non-cash payment solution for students under their scholarship program.

Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, e-RUPI will be used by the Karnataka government to ensure leak-proof delivery of education fees to deserving students through digital payment in colleges / institutes.

The Karnataka government will provide mobile e-vouchers to eligible students. Voucher codes are also available on feature phones. Students will be able to redeem e-RUPI for the purpose of paying fees at the designated college / institute.

“E-RUPI is indeed a very powerful tool for the government to use because it allows the transfer of benefits directly to targeted beneficiaries, including security and safety. The device ensures that beneficiaries receive benefits in accordance with project guidelines. Under the initiative, each transaction is mapped to the beneficiary and the institution so that the e-voucher can be redeemed by the college to which the student is enrolled, “said Rajiv Chawla, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR) (e-Governance). , Government of Karnataka.
