The goal of the scholarship is qualified candidates who can pursue their education and start a sustainable career in engineering, research and development or production.
Siemens has launched the 9th edition of the Siemens Scholarship Program. Based on the German model of dual education, the program equips young people to become industry-ready engineers and start a sustainable career in engineering, research and development or production.
Under this program, Siemens provides financial assistance to deserving meritorious students. In addition, internships, mechatronics, soft skills training, projects and mentorships offered by Siemens will also acquaint these bright minds with the dynamics of the industry, which will lead to their overall development. The scholarship program is available to students for four years after graduation and 50 percent of the scholarship is reserved for girls. As of 2021, 935 students from 93 government engineering colleges across 26 states of India have been part of the Siemens Scholarship Program.
Sunil Mathur, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Siemens, said, “The Siemens Scholarship Program has made significant progress since its inception nine years ago and now has 1,000 scholars. With the expected growth in the economy and growing industrial and infrastructural development, the need for industry-ready engineers will be felt more than ever. The program is based on the German model of dual education.
The scholarship program follows a rigorous selection process.
প্রথম First year students of Government Engineering College can apply from the following stream:
o Mechanical / manufacturing
o Electronics and telecommunications
o Computer science / information technology
· Age: Up to 20 years
· SSC: Minimum 60 percent total
· HSC or equivalent results: Minimum 50 percent total and minimum 60 percent PCM total
Annual family income: not more than 2 lakh rupees
