Extensive, long-term framework agreement with a total volume of eight figures
Möglingen, March 30, 2022 The Federal Republic of Germany commissioned the BWI GmbH to modernize the entire non-military information and communication technology of the German Federal Armed Forces and to operate reliably and economically. Together with the LI-12 project, USU has successfully emerged from a pan-European invitation to tender for the creation of an IT Services Management (ITSM) platform with the most profitable bids. The contract is initially valid for a period of seven years with the option of extension and has a total volume of eight figures in euros. The USU is thus consolidating its leading position in the European ITSM market and as a strategic partner in the public sector.
The project aims to create a harmonious IT service management structure on a shared ITSM platform for the German Federal Armed Forces and BWI, ensuring a sustainable and future-proof ITSM solution. These include general process, transparency, maintenance capability and focus on de facto industry standard ITIL. USU IT Service Management Solutions will be used, replacing several legacy systems as part of complex and large projects. It will gradually be rolled out to the other 20 German Federal Armed Forces IT companies. One of the key requirements is to operate a “separate ITSM system” with processes that operate autonomously.
Bernhard Oversmiddt, CEO of USU Software AG, said: “We are pleased with the agreement and the confidence of BWI, with which USU – as a digital transformation partner – will implement one of the largest ITSM projects in Europe.
